High-impact outdoor and exhibition displays — UV-resistant weatherproof inks for intense sunlight.
Wide format starts with where the sign lives. An outdoor banner on a facade or a roadside needs 440 GSM flex vinyl with heat-welded borders. An indoor standee or roll-up needs greyback non-curl film, which stays flat and does not let the frame shadow through the print. For permanent indoor signage, 5 to 10mm optical cast acrylic reads as a fixture, not a print.
The ink matters as much as the media. Eco-solvent and UV inks at 1440 DPI hold color under direct sun without bleaching. If a banner goes up outdoors for more than a season, the ink is the reason it survives.
DPI on a wide-format printer is not the same as DPI on a file. The heads lay down 1440 droplets of ink per inch of substrate, which is why a banner still looks clean viewed at two meters. A roadside billboard does not need that. A reception backdrop does.
Greyback is a physical light-blocking layer. Without it, a roll-up standing near a window goes translucent and the frame shows through. Non-curl means the film has a tension-balanced base, so it does not roll at the edges after a month in a stand.
Flex banners print in one pass, then finish by hand. Borders are heat-welded and the sheet is folded to size. Roll-up stands print on film, laminate, and mount into the retractable cartridge. Acrylic work is different again: the print is applied to the back of the cast sheet, the edges are laser-cut and polished, and the standoffs are drilled to the wall pattern.
