A presentation folder carries a property brochure, a contract and the buyer’s attention. It is a structural object, not a sheet of paper. The board has to hold a pocket without bowing, and the finish has to survive a day in and out of a briefcase.
What this specification does on press
- 300 GSM ivory board is the working weight for a die-cut folder. Stiff enough to hold a pocket and keep its shape after the die strikes, but not so thick that the fold cracks.
- Matte lamination is a film sealed over the printed sheet. It is what stops a folder scuffing at the corners inside a bag. It also kills the glare that makes a glossy board unreadable under office lighting.
- Spot UV is a high-gloss varnish, cured onto chosen areas only. Over a matte-laminated field it gives a tone-on-tone effect. You cannot see it in a flat photograph, but the moment you turn the folder it is obvious.
- A4 die-cut with pockets means the whole shape is cut from one sheet, flaps included. No gluing of separate parts, which is exactly where cheap folders fail.
Decisions to make before you order
- Tell us what goes in the pocket before the dieline is drawn. A folder cut for a single brochure will not take a 20-page contract set, and the dieline cannot change once the die is made.
- Spot UV needs solid dark areas to sit on. Over light type it disappears. Over small type it fills the counters and the letters close up.
- Order the business-card slits with the pocket. Retrofitting a card holder into a finished folder is not possible.
