A welcome-kit box is the first physical thing a new member or employee receives from a brand, so it is specified as an unboxing object. Rigid enough to be opened and kept, with a printed wrap and an interior that holds each item in its place.
What this specification does on press
- Rigid board with a printed wrap is a different construction from a folding carton. The board is thick and pre-formed, and the printed sheet is wrapped and glued around it. The printed surface is a skin, not a structural layer.
- Full-colour 4/0 wrap means the printing is on the outside only. Because the wrap is a separate sheet, the inside of the box can stay plain without a second ink pass.
- Matte lamination over the wrap is the film that keeps the box from scuffing in transit, and it gives a printed surface that does not reflect the room.
- A foam insert is die-cut to the contents, holding each item in a defined position. That is what turns a box of objects into a presented kit, and it is cut after the contents list is final.
Decisions to make before you order
- Finalise the contents list before the insert is cut. Foam cut for a mug and a notebook will not hold a bottle and a hoodie, and the insert is not adjustable once made.
- Specify the shipping case. A rigid box sent loose in a courier bag arrives dented at the corners, at exactly the brand moment it was made for.
- Decide whether the box is reusable or disposable. A kept box carries the brand for years, and that justifies a heavier construction.
